Relief at Last

The weather has just been downright horrible lately. Between the nearly non-stop rain and the hot humid days being anywhere but in an air conditioned building is uncomfortable. Thankfully, tonight it seems that not only has the temperature dropped, but the humidity has finally dropped as well. Even though I shouldn’t, we are happily going to sleep with all of the windows open. The fresh, dry air is a relief.

The tomatoes are a lost cause. The blight has taken them and even though I’ve done plentiful surgery on the plants they are continuing to die. Our two small patio tomato plants are doing okay. They were starting to yellow and dry out. I think they needed some nutrition, as they were getting just the right amount of water. They are producing fruit, albeit small ones. It’s better than nothing. We’re now looking to put the garden to use for a fall harvest. I have to figure out what we are going to plant.

We had a busy weekend running around two states. Saturday we got to spend time with mom and pop, and family celebrating mom’s 50th birthday. We got to meet and play with Lia, who is a sweety. Afterwards we made our way to Sue’s parent’s, where we did our best to stay dry and get some shopping done. I also got my ears lowered. Then it was back home for us. A quick two days.
