Postcards from Tomorrow Square – James Fallows

It’s not often that I get to read much lately, but I do get a few moment hear and there to peel open a book. I was making my way through “Factory Girls” when another book I wanted to read came in, “Postcards from Tomorrow Square” by James Fallows. Unfortunately, reading two books is more difficult than getting one done and postcards wasn’t renewable. Fortunately, postcards is short and a good read. I made it through in no time.

The book is a collection of Fallows articles about China from 2007 to late 2008. The cover a number of subjects from The Olympics to the factories in southern China (very similar to “Factory Girls”). Having read numerous blogs and articles during the same time period, none of them being from Fallows, I thought the book was a good read. It’s a good book if you have any interest in what has been going on in China for the past couple years.

Immediately after finishing Postcards I moved right back to “Factory Girls”, which is another good read on life in China.
