Birthday Celebration

Last Saturday we celebrated Emelia’s second birthday. We all had a great time and the family got their first in person meet-up with Caitlin.
Little Caitlin spent most of her time being passed from person to person.
Multiple generations from both sides of the family.
Grandma feeds Caitlin a bottle.
Eight pounds of wings with tasty appetizers in the background.
Salad for the health conscious.
The main course was a variety of pizzas.
Uncle Mike and Aunt Jane came with their grandson Aden.
Emelia still has a thing for Nemo; hence the Nemo theme cake. We opted to get carrot cake since we were also celebrating my birthday (silently) and I love good carrot cake. I think it made for a nice alternative to the common cake.
James started off by opening up a few presents just for him.
Aden watches with anxious eyes. He really wanted to help James and Emelia.
Emelia inspects each gift.
Seeing as things were taking too long I had Emelia sit on my lap where I could help her along.
Counting Emelia’s loot. Notice that James and Aden are right in the middle ready to spring into action the second we ask for help.
After watching Emelia slowly open each present we watched her play with her current favorite (she changes preference often and rapidly).
Everybody resting for the trip home.
Overall the entire party went over well. The kids were well behaved and got along well together. The food was great and plentiful. And best of all Emelia had a great time. She got lots of wonderful gifts and didn’t get bashful in front of everybody.
