Here She Is

Born at 11:35am on Friday February 6, 2009 is Caitlin Lanmei (蓝梅). At birth she weighed in at 7 lbs. and 15 oz., and was 21 3/4 in. long. Slightly smaller, but slightly longer than Emelia at birth.
Mom and baby are doing well. We will all be going home today. I’m back home for a short bit in order to bring gear home and get the house ready for our newest arrival. I haven’t had a chance to make my way through the pictures and video that I’ve taken, but I’ll post a few so that you can see her. Without further ado, here she is.
This shot was taken three hours after birth. She was just given her first bath and was drying off in the quite warm heat of the French fry warmer.
Friday evening Amy brought Caitlin’s big sister for a visit. Emelia adores Caitlin and so far has not shown much jealousy. This afternoon when the four of us are alone may prove to be very different. Emalia gives her little sister kisses constantly and keeps asking to hold her or at least sit next to her. She’s going to make a great big sister.
Caitlin takes a lot of her looks from Sue and seems to have a great mixture of other traits inherited from both of us. Her appetite is strong, but not as voracious as Emelia’s. She seems to have a little more patience than Emelia (must come from daddy).
That’s all for now. I’m looking forward to a hot shower and a quick meal before picking up my precious cargo for the trip home.

She is beautiful. Doesn’t even look like a french fry
can’t wait to see her in person. Saw great-grandma yesterday and she’s already purchased film for the trip. Congrats!
