Big Wheel

Although it isn’t the greatest picture Emelia was really having a good time trying out 哥哥的 big wheel. This was a birthday present for his fourth birthday. His birthday isn’t until next Tuesday, but with a pending birth on our hands we ended up having a small and quick celebration this past weekend. I brought the big wheel box home so that I could assemble it. Emelia is doing some quality assurance testing to make sure I assembled it correctly and that it can take the abuse.
It reminds me of the good old days back when I had my very own big wheel. I’m disappointed with the quality since I had to cut off a lot of sharp plastic edges, but it looks to be a lot of fun. Strangely enough it’s missing the clicker things for the rear wheels. The wheels themselves have the ridges, but there are no clickers and no place to attach the clickers to the body. I guess the manufacturer decided it was best to leave them off.
Emelia actually has her own plastic tricycle that we gave her for Christmas. It is not a big wheel, but it’s very similar. The colors are even the same. However, the trike she has is more appropriate and fits her better. The big wheel is a bit too big for her. The trike is almost small enough for her to pedal. Give it a couple months and she’ll be using it. I have some video, but they’ll have to wait for next week. My vimeo account is full for this week.

Yeah Memories!!! You did Love your big wheel. Best driveway was our apt. above the Baurer’s….long and a nice hill….giving the apple orchard truckers the signal to honk their horns for you all the time….No fun w/o the clickers to drive parents nuts when used indoors…..
A smile came upon my face while reading about our grand-daughter having fun with same toys you enjoyed sooooo much!!!!
big wheels, matchbox cars and lego’s – all favorites….

As grandma said, Emelia is allot like you were at that age. While reading your posts and the comments, I couldn’t help but wonder when she will take something apart so that daddy can put it together again. Then she can’t remember where the tools are that she used to do the job. Then you find the tools spred all over the house as well as the missing parts. AHHH the good ole days. I miss them.
But being a girl maybe she won’t. Time will tell.

I don’t think the apple has fallen far from the tree.
She likes to take things apart and put them back together, albeit simple items at the moment. She loves to watch you while you do something and from the looks of it she’s trying to learn how to new things.
Whenever I take apart a toy to repair it (toddlers are hard on toys, especially ones involving batteries and wires) or fix it (usually covering an insanely loud speaker with tape to reduce the volume) she’s right next to me analyzing my every move and doing her best to “help”.
She also prefers order over mess/chaos.
