Emelia had her hair “done” while at daycare today. I believe the teacher said that they were playing “beauty salon” and she couldn’t resist putting something into her hair. Emelia loves to pretend to do things like cook and clean so I’m not surprise she went along with this. And yes this is how she went to daycare today. The only thing missing from the photo are her new shoes.
She’s not feeling too well today and has actually lost most of her voice. Very quickly after taking her photo (she agreed to pose for me) her mood changed and she started to cry. I got one last shot and it ended up being this one.
A while later Emelia pulled the stuff out of her hair and she ended up with this amusing hairdo, which lasted until bedtime.
Very shortly after than she began to cry again.
The poor kid isn’t feeling well and is very quick to whine and cry. She was off and on like that all evening. To give you a picture of how she feels she ask me for medicine tonight just before going to bed. She didn’t want Vicks, she wanted Motrin. Immediately after taking her dose she asked to lay down. This is shocking different from her normal behavior of putting up a fight before going to sleep.
And finally a quick shot of her new shoes.
These were bought with a gift certificate from grandma and grandpa. Very fashionable for a 22 month old. And easy to get off too. She was all bundle up for daycare today and by the time I opened the door to take her out she already took off both of her shoes and her socks. It was sight to see her with bare feet and a winter jacket and hat on.
Thankfully, Emelia has taught herself how to put on her own socks. Miss Independent needs to do anything and everything on her own. That and she is getting better at stringing together words into sentences.

you know some famous folks pay a lot of money to make their hair look like hers did when she took it out. she must have a very advanced sense of fashion.
and i love her shoes. i’d definitely wear them!
