Just because one post just isn’t enough to cover Christmas, I’ve decided to break it up into three posts. This is the third and final post about Christmas. You should read the first post and second post if you want to follow things chronologically.
On the day after Christmas we opened presents with Sue’s side of the family. Again, it was just like the previous day; a day for the kids to open lots of presents (and for the parents to exchange a few).
Emelia got her first big-wheel trike! I had a hand in this present. I really want to have her very own big wheel, but unfortunately, she’s still a bit small to reach the pedals. She’s been using this since Christmas day by pushing herself around using her feet. It works out well at home since we have hardwood floors.
The kids helped out each other.
Daddy got some more work clothes.
More Thomas toys:
Lily and Jason played a little trick on Mike by hiding a Mickey-D’s gift card in one empty coffee cup. We had fun watching him open the box and each cup until he found the card in the very last cup.
Mommy got stocked up on Crabtree & Evelyn shower gel:
We gave James a set of three nice framed and matted (we framed and matted them) pictures from Disney movies. One was the Lion King, the second Bambi and the third was Mickey and friends.
A cooking essential; a large and deep stir fry pan (very tough to find).
I got one other thing I was looking forward to: a Peugeot pepper grinder. Amy gave me a salt grinder last year by mistake. I decided to keep it and ask for a matching pepper grinder for next Christmas. I now have a matching pair. Nothing beats freshly cracked salt and pepper. Nothing beats a well made grinder either. If you buy one, don’t skimp; pay the money and get a good one. It’ll last a lifetime and won’t annoy you by not working correctly.
After opening presents we kept an eye on the kids while they played with all of their new toys, read books and watched movies.
