Emelia’s New Room

With a second baby on the way we’ve been readying a new room for Emelia. The guest room is now her room. The “baby’s room” is going to be used by the new girl. And the guest bed has been moved into the computer room. Just like the dining room and our bedroom we picked up an area rug for Emelia’s room. It’s a nice wool pile rug just like the others that we bought online. Here it is all unrolled/unfolded. The fold marks have worked their way out.
Here is Emelia’s new crib. We bought this along with the conversion kits for a toddler bed and a full size bed. For now it’ll be Emelia’s. When the other kid is old enough for a toddler bed, Emelia will get her original crib again, but it too will be converted to a full size bed.
A matching dresser for Emelia’s new crib/bed.
I also moved some of Emelia’s other stuff into the room so that it feels more like her own. The only missing are some decorations. We’ll put up some in time.
As I mentioned earlier the computer room has been rearranged in order to accommodate a bed. One book shelf was moved into our room, but otherwise the computer room is the same as before.

I really like that rug.
How is baby girl adjusting to her move?

No painting. I think I’ve had enough of that for a while. Not to mention that after the kids are older I’ll have plenty of repairs and painting to do. Kids are rough on furniture and houses.

We couldn’t pass up the rug at the cost it was available at. 80% off a discounted price. Shipping adding a bit to the overall cost, but seeing as the rug was about twice the cost of shipping I think we did okay.
Emelia did well with the move to the new room. At first she had no idea anything was different. Her rug was there, her books were there and the crib was setup with the same items she’s slept with for months. After a week or two she took notice, but it is her room. Tell her to go to her room and that’s the place she goes to.
Once the second one is old as Emelia or maybe a little earlier we’ll move her into the computer room and make the baby’s room the new office/guest room. Keep the kids on their end of the house and the parents on the other end. Then everybody gets their privacy.
