Cape Cod House Pictures

Our temporary home away from home.

We spent plenty of time on this little porch. It was small, but quaint.

Not much to look at, but this is a nice feature of the house; an outdoor shower with hot water. A great way to clean up after returning from the beach.

Without toys Emelia is likely to find anything in the house and use it as a toy. Not 30 minutes earlier the basket she is in was lined with clothe and filled with brochures and restaurant menus.

The only complaint we had about the house was the basement. The one day that we got any rain the basement got water in it and it was still there four days later when we left. Not enough water to fill the place, but enough to fill a corner. We emptied the dehumidifier every few hours (the owner didn’t ask, but we’re not dummies) and it helped, but not much.

The other problem was that the washer and dryer were in the basement. The dryer did not vent out side, so it just kept putting more and more moisture into the already soaking wet basement. It then sucked this in and tried to dry clothing, which was futile. Put a load of towels in and set the timer for 70 minutes later. Still well. Put in for another 40 minutes. Still damp. Then we would just hang the towels around the house to air dry.

For the money it was a great place. If we spent more for this place I would have disappointed. I believe in getting what I pay for and expect a better place if I spend more on one. Next trip we plan ahead and reserve a nicer place in a different area.
