Bedroom Area Rug

Continuing on yesterday’s POTD here we have our new rug in our room. This one is enormous! When we measured the room we figured something larger would fit nicely and this one fits perfectly; however, seeing the size of the thing in the room makes you realize how big the damn thing really is.
9′x13′ doesn’t sound too bad until you try to bring up a flight of stairs and maneuver it into a bedroom and lay it out. Very heavy, very awkward and damn big. The one in the living room is about 8′x10′. The rug in the living room is smaller yet.
(Ignore the mess on the TV; I scooped up anything from the bed and put it all there for safe keeping.)

very nice additions to the rooms. When I was looking at them it dawned on me that we all love wood floors rather than carpeting. Then we cover them with area rugs. Wonder why that is. Best of both worlds I guess.

I like the ease of cleaning hard wood. Our floors have taken plenty of hits from food dropped and thrown by both adults and kids. You also realize how dirty the floors get when you have hardwood. Carpet just covers it all up. Then again I like the feel of carpet. Best of both worlds pretty much sums it up. (Did I mention that area rugs are good at covering up wood floors that are in dire need of refinishing? I should have
)
