Dining Room Area Rug

Dining room rug

Not very newsworthy, but I just have to share the latest addition to the house. It is one of two new area rugs that we got. Sue found a wonderful new home decorator’s website that sells some of their "older" items at very deep discounts. This one was 80% off the original price, which is already much lower than the "suggested" retail price. The price to buy this baby was almost as much as the cost to ship. Not a bad deal.

The quality of this rug is about 85% as good as the one we have in our living room and cost way, way less. If we had only known last year we probably would have bought our living room rug from these people.

The only thing that sucks about them is that they use a company named Seko to deliver their stuff. This was our first experience with the company and I can tell you that I don’t think they’ll be able to last in the world of UPS and FedEx. Seko’s customer service is not good and their policies suck.

They screwed up and didn’t tell us that we had to leave a signed note on our door in order for them to leave the delivery. We called up to asked where our stuff was and found out that without a note they would not leave the item. They said they would resend it out to us for a measly $27! No thanks. We drove out the airport and picked it up ourselves. Thieves.

Our second rug came in via FedEx and was neatly placed on our front porch without any trouble or extra fees.

(The picture above gives a rare shot of our naked dining room table. I hate to see the wood damaged so we keep the pads and table cloth on it at all times.)
