Harvest

The harvest

One of the many harvests we’ve had. The tomatoes barely make it inside before being devoured by Sue and Emelia. Yes, the little one is a tomato lover too. She slurps down mostly cherry tomatoes, but is not afraid to chomp down on a big one.

BTW the stuff you see on the cuke and eggplant is all natural stuff. The mulch we use in the garden around the plants is grass clippings from our yard. The while stuff on the cucumber comes natural. We have not and don’t plan to use any pesticides. We’ve had great success by planting other plants in the garden to keep away pests (mint, rosemary and marigolds).

Here we have one of our very own Napa cabbages. I can’t wait to try it. There are five more heads growing and will be ready to cook in no time.

More yummy tomatoes. This batch ended up as a tomato and egg dish.

And here are two fine zucchinis. I planted one plant and it has grown into a huge thing that dominates a portion of the garden, but pumps out vegetables like crazy. These have ended up as both stir-fry and zucchini bread.

Today we picked some veggies. I grabbed a shot while Sue whipped up another wonderful meal. The eggplants were partially cooked (ready to be added to the stuff on the stove). In the middle we have some of our many scallions. And lastly two more jumbo cucumbers.

Last, but not least is out beautify green pepper. One of two that we got out of the four plants we have. They just are not growing well. Two came out okay and there were two on the ground. Nothing else has come about. Everything else is growing wildly.
