If it isn’t one thing, it’s another. This past Sunday was Father’s Day and I spent most of the weekend on the can. I came down with something nasty and it’s taken a while to go away. Kind of like last time I got sick I’ve lost a lot of weight, most of it water weight this time. Last time I checked I dropped 10 pounds in two days. Not good. At least things are starting to get back to normal today. It put a damper on the whole weekend, but I’m not upset about it.
Today we found out that somebody was trying to buy gas with my credit card. That’s odd since I haven’t bought gas since last week and at the time I did not use the Citgo. Amex was nice enough to alert us and we immediately canceled the card. They don’t know who did it, where it took place or how much they tried to charge. All they know is that the card was “run” through a pump and that it failed because of a mag strip error. That usually indicates a fake card. That is what alerted them to call us.
Now, I’m left wondering how the number was stolen. We shred all our old paperwork (and haven’t gotten rid of anything from Amex in a very long time) and I haven’t lost my card. The only thing I can think of is that the number was stolen from a vendor that I use (such as as a supermarket). Hannaford had a break in not long ago and all but my Amex cards were replaced. Maybe that is where the number was stolen. Regardless, the old card is history.

well that just sucks. next time something starts to give you a colonic exorcism, drink some acv mixed with water. tastes nasty, but does a tummy good.
that amex thing is scary. i hate that people do that kind of stuff!

I have visions of Drano going through and cleaning a drain pipe when I think about drinking acv. That doesn’t sound too appetizing.

no way dude. drano would be bad. acv neutralizes bad bacteria, big difference.
