How We Spent This Easter

Happy Easter and all that Jazz. We took it pretty easy this year. We did some shopping on Saturday and pretty much acted like couch potatoes on Sunday. The little one just about killed us two nights over the weekend.
Friday night Sue tried to put her down for sleep, but she was way too excited. She had an afternoon nap (out of the ordinary) and fought us in the car. She would not go to sleep easily, but was able to close her eyes for 40 minutes. She then got a chance to play and rough house with James until about 10pm when everybody decided to go to bed. Not Emelia. She was wound up and wanted to play more. It took a long time to get her to close her eyes and stop fussing. We ended up with her in our bed that night just to keep the crying down. She was out of her element.
Around 2:30am she got going again and we discovered that she was teething again. Two molars this time. One is out and the other is poking her gums. Now, we knew why she was really fussy. We applied orajel, but ended up staying awake for a while to get her calm again. I ended up sleeping with her the rest of the night with Sue in another room. It was the only way that we could all get some form of sleep.
Saturday we hit the mall for Easter pictures (the last pictures we’ll get taken until the next big holiday) and later on we hit the Woodbury Outlets. We ended up picking up a small “umbrella” stoller for Emelia. Her one at home is too big to travel with. The damn thing takes up Sue’s entire car trunk. We picked up this one to travel with and it worked out great. Emelia loved it and got a chance to catch some z’s while mom shopped. We just wrapped her up in the plastic cover that it comes with and she wasn’t touched by the cold and wind that we had to deal with.
Saturday night was a repeat of Friday. By 6am Sue was going batty and I ended up taking Emelia out to the living room to play. At 9:30 after James found (it was hidden) and opened his Easter basket and presents (both from us) we took the kids out the playground. It was chilly and kind of muddy, but they enjoyed it. James really gets into playing now and was going up and down on the slide like crazy. Emelia enjoyed the swing and the small slide. Our fearless little one. After those we found a nearly dead basketball and played with that for a while. Both the kids, Amy, Sue and myself all played. We look like the worst basketball players in the world playing with a deflated ball, but we all had fun. After the playground we finished our walk around the neighborhood.
After the playground we were all pretty lazy and did not do much. I ended up taking Emelia out for another walk at 2:30 just so I could get out and stretch my legs. She of course slept again. It’s her favorite thing to do in her new stroller. After dinner we made our way home, talked with mom and dad and proceeded to get Emelia to sleep in her own bed. She cried a little bit, but nothing like we were expecting. Sue and I got a decent night of sleep for once in three days.
