Words

One thing I unfortunately did not keep up on was finding out what Emelia’s first word was. She makes it tough as she usually says something one time and does not repeat herself like other babies. So, you have to be keenly tuned into what she is saying at the moment it happens. I believe her first word was “ba ba” or “da da”. That was quickly followed by “ma ma”.
Nowadays, it seems that she says something the sounds like something we say to her. It happens too often and at the correct moment each time for it to be coincident. At one point we would say “Hi” to her and she would say “Hi” right back.
This week her word of choice seems to be “done”. Take her out of the crib after a long night trying to sleep and the first thing she says is “done”. When she’s had her fill of food and we offer more she may respond with “done”. It’s funny to see somebody so small know a word and concept like that.
I could swear that she also knows the word “more”, but I’m too tired to decided if I dreamed it up or if it is real. I’m leaning towards it being one of her words, but as I said I can’t be sure.
I can’t wait to see what else she chooses to say next.
