Family Time

This weekend ended up being two days of quality family time. Friday night was spent watching DVDs (Desperate Housewives Season 1) and we woke up when we felt damn good and ready on Saturday morning. It felt good to wake up in your own bed without having to be forced awake by an alarm or have to do anything productive.

Saturday morning we were lazy for a while and then got ready to go out for the day. We ended up hitting three of the bigger libraries in the area to get some information and to pick up some more movies. It was amazingly busy at our library. The line was long and people were taking out lots of stuff. The guy immediately ahead of me hit the 52 item limit and had to return some of the stuff. Two spots down there was a man and woman taking out enough audio books on CD to last a lifetime. They must have had 15-20 of them. I picked up the first two discs of Firefly. I’ve head it was good, but haven’t seen any of it yet. My fingers are crossed.

From there we went to another location to stock up on Chinese movies. We stick mostly to the VCD ones since the DVD movies are almost all in PAL format, which we can’t watch. Come to find out that location is closing for a year long renovation. It’ll be great when it is done, but 1 year is a long time. Thankfully, they are moving all the Chinese language materials downtown. That was out next stop.

The downtown library wasn’t all that great. It’s the main location, but it is located in a busy area. Going there on the weekend is fine, but going there during the day would be a chore. Parking is limited. I picked up a couple audio books and Sue tracked down a copy of Stargate Atlantis season 2. Needless to so say the car was loaded after the third stop. From there we made our way to the mall.

Emelia wasn’t feel too well in the morning. Sue thought she was going to get sick, but she didn’t. Emelia was in an exceptionally good mood all day. That is until she vomited all over herself when we pulled into the mall parking lot. Everything right down into the front of her jacket. What a mess. We cleaned her up and Sue brought her inside to change.

After getting sick Emelia did well. We ate a very late lunch and did a little shopping. We didn’t end up with much, but it was a good day out. By the time we left all three of us were exhausted. We came home and crashed. Emelia went down for an evening time nap, which turned out to be her going to sleep for the night. Sue and I watched a couple episodes of Stargate and hit the sack.

I haven’t been feeling too well myself. I was exhausted and achy when I got home. Sue was kind enough to whip up a soup from pretty much nothing (it’s magic), which helped. Sunday morning the little one was happy as a clam. She then proceeded to have diarrhea and again spit up, but this time all over me. With everything out of her system Emelia appears to be doing well. We’ll keep an eye on her and I’ll take it easy myself. I went to bed freezing and awoke sweating for no reason. Aren’t colds wonderful?

Thanks. We’re both recovering pretty quickly. Looks like we both had a two day bug that only lasted until Sunday. Perfect timing.
