Not Much to Say

To be honest I haven’t had much to say lately. Maybe it is being busy at home and work or maybe it is something else. It doesn’t look like I’m the only one experiencing this syndrome.
Last week I made my way to the hospital’s imaging center to find out what the hell went wrong with me a month ago when I suddenly came down with severe abdominal pain and the non-stop nausea. The conclusion of it all? Nothing. They can’t say anything conclusive. Nothing negative and nothing positive. The only thing they can say is that whatever it is/was that it is/was mild. So, it’ll be back to the place for another, different test.
I don’t think the next test will be as bad as the first one. I ended having to drink a barium milkshake for last week’s test. If you never had to ingest one all I can say is that it goes down sweet and with an odd flavor, but it turns to concrete on the way out. I won’t go into any more detail, but you have been warned.
Emelia has been doing well lately. No viruses or sicknesses. This week she has been taking one nap during the day and going to sleep for the night around 7pm, which is drastically different than the early evening nap and going to bed around 9pm routine she was following before this week. It was pleasant to have her asleep early and she has been in a great mood when she wakes up. Even day care has commented on how chipper she has been lately. Let’s hope it lasts.
She’s still walking around holding on things but her ability to walk is improving quickly. It won’t be long before she tries to let go and walk independently. Coming up soon after her first birthday will be weening and moving her into her own bed (again). It is fun having her in our bed at night and I like to think she is warmer because of our body heat, but the restlessness and poking is taking its toll on all of us. Sue will be away for a week sometime in the next couple months so it’ll be up to me to break both habits. I expect to take some time off from work just to rest because I don’t think my nights are going to be very restful.
That’s all for now. Back to work.

No, you are not alone cousin.
Ooh, weening sounds like it’ll be grand fun … not.

Where’s Sue going for a week?

She has training in New York. A week in the big city with food (at least partially) and room (completely) paid for by somebody else. I hate to miss it, but I don’t think it would be much fun with a baby in tow. I think it all works out for the best in the end.
