Banning the Bag

When I first heard about Ireland making a new law stating that customers must be charged for plastic bags I thought it was a great way to reduce the trash. Basically, they ban the cheap, thin plastic bags and offer more sturdy bags for a small fee. Recently, China has followed suit (plenty of news about this floating around). Plastic bags are banned, but stores may offer thicker plastic bags, but they’re not free. If it works this could prevent a lot of garbage. Now if only something like this could be done here then the environment would improve and we’d be using less oil.
