What Happened?

Well, I can for sure that I did not get hit by a car; I just felt like it. Early Friday morning I just felt like crap. By the afternoon I was far too nauseous and in pain to even load the car for traveling. By the time we arrived at our destination I was in excruciating pain and needed to get to the hospital. Everything hurt. 8 miserable hours and one CAT scan later I found out that I don’t have appendicitis, but I do have some inflammation of my intestines and had a “little bug”.
The doctor gave me some percoset and scripts for vicadin and some nausea pills. She also suggested I drink Pedialyte and I ended up taking Tylenol and (later) Advil for my whopping headaches. The percoset did wonders on the pain, but did nothing for the headache. Taking three Tylenol didn’t even take the edge off. I spent until Monday just miserable going between sleeping, being bored, extremely nauseous and getting sick. Not a great weekend.
By Christmas day I was feeling less nauseous and we discovered the wonders of Advil for headaches. My head pounded less and I was able to enjoy watching my nephew shred his way through presents (both his and others) and also watch my daughter play with pieces of wrapping paper. When we got back to our house we got to open our presents and put together the little girl’s new toys for her.
That was a nice way to relax. Home sweet home with its wonderfully comfortable and familiar bed. I seem to have poked my eye that night. I went to reach under the tree for a present and got an artificial branch in the eye. Popped a blood vessel and now I look like a monster with a bloody red eye. Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment with a GI doctor today to find out what caused the inflammation.
One interesting side effect of being this sick and the lack of eating proper is that I’ve lost a lot of weight. As of today I’m down 11 pounds. The first 10 went quickly. Things are dropping a little now because I don’t eat much. So, my clothes fit a bit better. ![]()
Pictures and video of the little one are forthcoming. I haven’t had a chance to get online much at all lately. I have some good ones of her though. The best is the video of her walking across the living room using her walking toy. Very cute.
