Xiaoniu 小妞

I certainly feel like I got hit by a car. I woke up very sore and even at noon my body still feels like crap. Yesterday was busy, but not too busy by my terms. I went out for a fast paced walk during lunch with a coworker, then headed out for some last minute Christmas shopping (is there any other kind) and made my way home. Later on last night I spent some time wrapping up presents for Sue.

Overall I did a lot of walking, but nothing taxing. I woke up today with a massive ache in one foot and I feel like my entire body (except my legs) is wrapped tight. Breathing deeply aches, as does coughing. I guess I’m getting old and falling apart. The extra brownies and pieces of chocolate aren’t helping either. And to think I’m actually 1 pound down from my weight this time last year.

Enough about me. Emelia’s forth tooth has broken free of her gums. She now has a full set of 4 chompers in the front. Two on top and two on the bottom. They haven’t fully come out, but they are out of the gums. Time for biting and chewing food. Thankfully the novelty of grinding her teeth has worn off. That was driving me nuts. The sound of newly made teeth grinding gets on your nerves very quickly. It all started when she had a tooth on both top and bottom, but that’s all over with now.

Thankfully the holidays are going to be over soon. I used to enjoy them as a kid, but as adults and parents both Sue and I are really starting to feel the stress and pressure of the holidays. Buying and wrapping gifts. Transporting and opening gifts (usually the fun part). And trying to keep up with normal chores as well as weather related chores like shoveling and snow-blowing on top of all that. It’s been a challenge. I think we’ll need a vacation after all this.
