Sick Again

I woke up on Monday feeling like I was run over by a truck. Not only run over, but backed up over and run over repeatedly throughout the night. I kept waking it up, tossing and turning. When I had to get out of bed I felt like crap. Nothing I did during the day could change it.

When I got out of bed I was swelteringly hot. I turned the heat down and went out into the garage to take advantage of the cool 30 degree air. It helped, but I was shot for the morning. When I got home I was cold. My hands were cold and achy and no matter how warm the house was and how much tea I drank my body never got warm.

A pot of tea, several doses of dayquil and a failed attempt at a nap later I crashed. Emelia was being fussy about going to sleep, but eventually went out (shortly after 9pm).

I slept all night without waking, but still felt achy when I woke up. The only think good was that I wasn’t mentally tired. I want to do absolutely nothing that I don’t have to. Relieving myself, going to work and keeping Emelia from hurting herself are pretty much my limits.

As I write this I’m less achy because of a great shoulder rub, but I’m frozen. It’s 70 degrees in the house and I’m fully dressed on the couch with a blanket and warm laptop on me. I hope this doesn’t last long. The only thing that I can be thankful for is that Emelia and Sue have so far been spared.
