Happy Veterans’ (Armistice) Day! If you don’t know why you (may) have a day off from work check it out on Wikipedia.
It’s been an interesting weekend around here. Nothing too special going on with us; were’ just looking forward to a day off and being home to take care of chores. With the sun setting early in the afternoon it’s difficult to get out and clean the gutters (damn leaves) and to get rid of the remaining leaves.
Mom and dad on the other hand had some great news to tell. Shortly after changing realtors they were in contact with a potential buyer. Within 24 hours they settled on a price. The wheels are in motion and the next month and half will be a roller coaster while they go through the motions and mountains of paperwork required to sell the house. It’s a lucky break since the worst house selling season is just starting.
Emelia is almost back to her own self. She’s been working off an occasional cough, but otherwise she is in good health and good spirits. The humidifier helps keep her throat moist and her cough to a minimum. I on the other hand is about 95% back to normal. A little bit of coughing, nausea, stomach issues and a runny nose have plagued me since Thursday, but today (Sunday) I felt great. No more runny nose and everything else is back in working order.
It seems that winter has sent right in this past week. It’s a brisk 27 degrees outside right now. It’ll probably only get into the 40s tomorrow so it’ll be a cold day outside doing yard work. In the house it is comfy. The heat is up a little bit for the baby, but we still have to get to making the house more energy efficient. Time and money are all that is needed.
That’s all for now.
