Emelia Update

Emelia had a good day home with mommy, although, I think that mommy is starting to feel a little tired and used. A sick baby makes for a very clingy baby. I don’t think Sue got much time to herself all day. Any time she attempted to put Emelia down to play by herself or if she even sat down on the floor to play with her Emelia would put up a good fuss because she wanted to be held.

I experienced this first hand when I got home. I hadn’t seen Emelia all day and Sue was eager to get a break so Emelia and I played together while Sue did her thing. Sure enough we were playing on the floor and about 20 seconds later she just started crying. No warning and no apparent reason.

If she wasn’t sick I would say she was being too clingy, but I know she has something wrong with her. She could have a tummy ache or headache and we’d never know. We can only judge her level of comfort on her reactions and mannerisms. Needless to say something is bothering her. We’ve never seen her this clingy, but when mommy has her she quiets down considerably.

I’m happy they got the stay home for the day. If the little one went to daycare she was sure not to get the comfort that she desired and if it was me and her she would have been okay, but no where as happy as she would be with mom. My fingers are crossed that whatever is bothering her goes away soon. I don’t want to feel guilty bringing her into daycare Monday morning.

One last thing. The croup cough is gone. She’s gone from “barking” to a normal hacking cough. Neither is a great sound, but a croup cough just sounds unnatural.

    My heart goes out to the little one. Also to mom and you. I hope things slow down for you soon. Sorry I don’t comment much but I have no access during the week. But I think of you all everyday.
