Getting Your Face Seen

Coming from a pretty rural area it strikes me funny to see candidates out “campaigning” the way they do where I live now. On the way to work today I saw this guy standing outside in 38 F weather in front of his sign waving and giving the thumbs up to cars that drove by. To be honest this act draws your attention to him and his name, but I’m not sure how much this attention will help in the race. I never heard of him before and didn’t give any of the campaign signs much attention before this (other than to think it’s such a waste of resources), but I guess his goal was just to make himself known to those not all too interested in local politics.
