婆婆家

Poor James really missed going to 婆婆家 last weekend. Amy brought him over tonight for a quick visit and Amy kept telling him it was time to go home and he kept saying that he wanted to go to 婆婆‘s house. She said no and that they would go on Friday. He got really upset. Poor kid really wanted to go and missed it because of being sick.
Meimei is adjusting well now that she is back home. Friday night she went to bed at 1am. Saturday night she stayed up until 5am! Needless to say she was lacking a good sleep. By 5pm she was out. She slept all the way to 9am today with only waking up to eat and get changed. She’s in a better mood too. I guess the only thing we can do is keep up what we are doing and eventually she’ll get used to being at other places.
After Amy left we got geared up for a good pre-dinner walk around the neighborhood. Baby was asleep and Susie was ready to get out of the house and into the nice weather outside.
Little girl woke up not far from the house though, so we had to make our way back. It was a nice, short walk uphill both ways. With nearly 14 pounds of baby and gear it is a workout. Can’t wait to try this when she reaches 20 pounds.
Some new baby girl gear for when she moves into 9 month clothes (not too far into the future). She’s in 6 month clothes now and they just fit. Give it a couple weeks and she’ll be out of them and into her 9 month clothes.
Emelia received yet another gift. This little (big?) girl has gotten so many presents in the past three months that I can’t even keep track of it all. A high chair, tons of books, clothes and plenty of hand-made items. Roseanne sent her a hand crocheted top and hat as well as two afghans.
I only wish I knew the pattern she used to crochet the blanket and clothes. It’s quite nice, but I’m not good enough yet to read the pattern just by looking at the crochet.
We finished the evening with a tasty noodle soup (pork, preserved veggies, napa and scallions).

I agree. Most of the stuff I’ve made are afghans and scarves. Nothing that fancy. Sue on the other hand is a master knitter. She makes up her own patterns and knows all the fancy stuff.
