Happy Birthday to Me

Well, almost. My birthday isn’t until next month. Since we are so close to the big day we felt it best to stay close to home for the next few weeks. So, no long distance visits for a while.

Since the “next few weeks” includes my birthday Amy decided to surprise me with a cake. Last night just before dinner she told me she got one for me. I was totally surprised. I’ve been telling everybody that they didn’t have to do anything for me since my birthday isn’t coming for a while and I’m pretty much focused on one thing right now: baby.

It was definitely a good surprise though. We had a good dinner and cake to finish it off. I was happy and drowsy with sugar induced laziness last night. My parents are coming for a visit next weekend so maybe I’ll get two birthday cakes this year. Or maybe a nice slice of birthday cheesecake.

This makes me think about the page in the baby book we bought where it says, “Mommy gained _____ pounds.” followed by “Daddy gained _____ pounds.” I may have to fill in that section with something other than a goose egg.

BTW I didn’t have the camera since I was expecting to need it. Jay took some pictures though. I’ll try to get a copy and post them soon.

My eyes were peeled and squeeze! It came in on Tuesday. Thanks to all of you, The Fab Four! I’m thinking a Star Wars marathon is in order.

We’ve been on a big Stargate SG-1 kick lately. Aunt Jeanne bough me season 9 for Christmas. I got another season from somebody else, but my mind is mush and I can’t remember who. Forgive me. Sometime last month all of the SG-1 seasons went on sale and we picked up the couple of missing seasons. Since then it has been SG-1 every day.

We’ve watched seasons 7-8 and there were quite a few episodes that we haven’t seen before. We’re at least half way through season 9 now. Again, more episodes that are new. You’d think we were sick of it, but we just keep going. Some day we’ll watch all 9 season straight through.

    Can you say “Sci-Fi Geeks”?

Thanks! I received your gift last night. I really appreciate it. I’ve been getting into reading the classical Chinese novels (translated into English of course) and the one that sent me is supposed to be a good one. I don’t exactly know what the storyline is about, but Sue can fill me in. She hasn’t read it, but has seen the movie.
