The Tradition Continues

Amy and Feifei stayed over our house Sunday night. We all had Monday off for MLK day and Mike had plans that were best carried out in an empty house so it all worked out well. It is fun having them over. It changes up the day and we get to spend more time with James. Not to mention Sunday night and just about all day Monday everything was covered in ice. Very cold stuff plus warm rain makes for plenty of ice. A good day to spend indoors.

Well, some time Monday morning James got bored so I broke out the blocks. I could have saved them for our baby, but that just didn’t make any sense. James can play with them any time he visits. It started out as expected.

I was waiting to see what would happen and then Amy tells James, “Put the bucket on your head.” He does and that started it. The tradition lives on. He spent quite a while just putting it on and letting us say, “Where’s James?” and “There he is!”. He loved it!

They stayed over until just after lunch. We spent the rest of the day putting away the tree, cleaning and doing lots and lots of laundry. We probably did about 8 or 9 loads. We did our normal loads (3), extra sheets and towels (guests), baby clothes and crib bedding. Then we put together just about everything in the baby’s room and even got a chance to pack stuff away in the basement. Right now we are finishing off the day with another Stargate SG-1 marathon.

Mattel got it right! The bucket must have been specially designed to fit on a small child’s head. It was a natural fit for him and me.
