Baby Shower

Saturday was the day. Both sides of the family came over to my mom’s house to celebrate the future birth of our baby girl and to bestow upon us gifts. It wasn’t Jack-n-Jill, but I was there, to help a little, take some pictures and enjoy myself. All the pictures are posted in the new gallery software here, but I’ll show some of the highlights in this post.
My cousin Angie’s baby boy Aden was there. He is a sweetie and full of smiles and energy.
One of my cousin Mike’s daughters, Brianna joined us.
And of course Feifei was there. Full of 2-year-boy energy and antics.
The day started off with snacks and a couple of games. Baby food taste testing. Essentially, people taste different baby foods and try to figure out what each is. The next game was baby bingo. Kinda like regular bingo, but instead of B9, you’ll hear “Baby Stroller”. Next was food.
And finally, opening gifts. Here is a small sweater and hat that Sue’s coworker knitted for her.
A two boob, electric milk sucking device.
A crocheted blanket and baby clothes from Aunt Jane.
And dad’s handmade, oak cradle and custom bedding.
An unexpected gift from grandma that I got to open. A set of block letters that I used to play with as a kid. I think that my cousins also played with them. She remembered how much I liked to play with them as a kid and passed them on to me for my kids.
Of course everybody seems to only remember that I used to put the bucket on my head and play “Where’s Shaun?” So, for old time’s sake they demanded I put it on for everybody. I’m a good sport.

We finished off the day with some cake from the Pastry Garden.
We both had a wonderful time and everybody went well. The gifts were great, the food was tasty and the babies were both on good behavior. Thanks for everything!

and all this time I thought that Sue already had a two-boob sucking machine….

You’re right. She has the deluxe model with a massager/groper. The new one is portal and can be used when alone. How sweet!
