It’s a sad, sad world. A local woman took it upon herself to raise money and collect gifts for the troops in Iraq. She planned to do this by spending a few weeks on top of a VFW building. Apparently, it worked. The sad part is that while she was out there trying to get donations somebody burglarized her house. They stole about $15k worth of stuff. Some idiot probably knew where she lived and knew she wasn’t going to be home for a while and decided to rob her. No good deed goes unpunished.

It reminds me of another local incident where the safe at a movie theater was robbed of money that was raised for people in need. It was an inside job and they eventually caught the people responsible, but it really didn’t look good. The money was raised for people that actually needed it.
