Weekend Craziness

I think some day Sue is going to lure me into a van and bring me to a hospital. I’ve been itching to start decorating for Christmas for weeks. Since Halloween is over and I had some spare time last weekend I finally did it. I put up the tree, decorated it and put up all of my Christmas lights on the house. Sue got the pleasure of seeing it first hand when she came home Sunday night.
Our neighbors must think we’re/I’m crazy. Since they’re up we might as well turn them on. So, we turn them on every night now.
At least I have consolation. Sue told her coworker about the lights and she said that her neighbor put his up last weekend too. So, I’m not the only crazy one.
Besides Halloween the other thing that kept me from putting up lights was that we were having gutters installed. Well, they called on Friday and said they couldn’t come at the appointed time/day and wanted to come Saturday instead. Hence, I had gutters to hold up my lights come Sunday morning. Yeah!
With a tree full of lights and ornaments, a skirt on the bottom and a few presents it feels almost like the end of December. I can’t wait to see what James does/says when he sees them. He’s old enough to recognize things like this now.
BTW the gutters look pretty good. I posted some pics, but didn’t think they wildly interesting enough to deserve their own posting. Just keep in mind that the downspout you see attached to the porch is temporary. They are going to replace it with a brown one so that it doesn’t stand out so much. It’s raining today too. I can’t wait to see how well they are working. This time next year I won’t even be thinking of them, but they are cool and new now.

@dad: I’ll tell you my secret. I hired somebody to do the gutter. Yup! That’s the trick. Get somebody else to do the work for you, preferably for free.
Spackle is on the back burner. The boss said to get the crib fixed and together, put everything back into their proper place (closets mostly) and get the rest of the crap out of the baby’s room. So, that’s what I’m doing.
We are putting the cart before the horse a bit when it comes to the storage room. I picked up a door for the room and will be hacking it to pieces and installing it and loading the room up with stuff before I get back to spackling. The door is to keep the dust off of the stuff we put in there. Keep your fingers crossed.
PS I’m sure I’ll need your help again. The problem is that you work too hard. I have to keep up or end up looking bad.

When the office (ie. the wife ) speaks we gotts listen up
. I was just wondering on the spackle, kinda interested if you ran into a difficulty. Ya never look bad when working with me pal. The trick for me is not to stop cause if I do I won,t start again. At least on that day. Besides, I am officialy old now and the law as I understand it is that I must slow down.
