Happy 50th Birthday!

Not exactly today or even yesterday, but close enough. Happy 50th birthday to dad! Mom has been hoping to talk him into letting her throw a big birthday party for him and this year she got her wish.
He passed the half century mark. To help celebrate mom invited friends, family and even some coworkers. It was an all day event. Family started arriving around 10am and the last guests that weren’t sleeping over left some time after 1am the next morning. About 50 guests showed up in all.
We started off with lots of food. Mom bought tons (well many pounds) of food. Some of the family like Jessie, Sarah, Aunt Sue and Amy (and I’m sure somebody else) brought more.

We find out later that this massive and heavy cake is actually beer wrapped up and covered in whip cream frosting. Kenny fed him a “piece” and dad gave him a kiss in return.
Oh yes, and there were plenty of shots being thrown back.
Even Feifei stopped by to have fun and make friends.
Due to demand and sufficient quantities of Puerto Rican rum, George and family make dad an honorary Puerto Rican. And what self respecting Puerto Rican doesn’t have a flag?
George and Denise gave dad a 50 and over survival kit for his gift.

Jessie was even able to open one of her birthday presents. Her birthday was earlier in the month. Happy Birthday to you too!
The night was finished off with Norm playing his guitar and then the women dancing and having fun when the rest of us went to bed.
The party was a success! Everybody was happy and nobody got upset. Dad got some nice gifts too. The rest of the pictures are all posts here
