Dinner, a fire and popcorn

Last night Feifei came over for a short visit while his mom went to a candle party. We had a pretty good time. I just got done doing a ton of work around the house and was working on Sue’s car. I had to put on her snow tires and rotate the others. Feifei was amazed. He just sat there watching me spin the lug wrench and change the tires. It was pretty cool having somebody show some interest in such a dirty and boring job. Afterwards we went inside where Sue was preparing a meal for us.
Susie cooking dinner:
We had fried rice, sweet and sour shrimp and some mushroom and onions dish. All of it was delicious. I like the sweet and sour shrimp best!
While she cooked Feifei and I started our very first fire. We didn’t buy a load of wood just yet, so I picked up a small bundle at Lowes. Not much, but enough for a small fire. Behold our fireplace in all its glory:
As you can see Feifei really enjoyed himself. I told him that it was hot and dangerous. He liked watching it, but knew better than to get close. He knew that he wasn’t even allowed to go near the rug. Of course watching a fire quickly becomes boring for a 20 month old. So, he found my sneakers and began walking around the house in them.
I got some video of him walking and then running around in my shoes that I’ll post. After playing we made some popcorn. We used the popcorn maker that my mom got me years ago. It’s the kind that uses very hot air to pop the corn kernels. He loved it. It was fun watching the popcorn pour out of the machine.
He ate plain popcorn while we ate dinner. Shortly after his mom stopped by to pick him up and taking him home.
As usual all of the pictures (yes there are more of them) are all in their own gallery.
