Dragonlance Movie

As much as I’d like to see a Dragonlance Movie, I’m not so sure how well it’ll do in the theaters. I’m a big Dragonlance fan and have literally dozens upon dozens of Dragonlance novels, but I think the movie is directed towards a niche market.

Chronicles of Narnia did okay, but I think that was due to two reasons. First, Narnia is an old series and has probably been read by many people. Second, the Narnia movie (and trailer) were filled with special effects.

The Dragonlance movie is going to be animated. That may make or break it’s chance. I have my fingers crossed that it does okay, or at least does well enough to run in the main theaters. I’ll guess we’ll just have to wait and see how things turn out.

Hey, I used to LOVE Dragonlance… thanks for bringing back that bit of nostalgia as I’ve not thought about D&D, and more specifically, Dragonlance, in years.

Good or bad, I’ll be watching the film for sure. Wish it was live action, but regardless… I can totally see Sutherlands voice behind Raistlin.

I’ve moved onto more mature (?) fantasy novels, but I’m still drawn back to reading Dragonlance. I never read any true D&D stuff though. The only problem I have with Dragonlance is that it is seen as a money maker for the publisher. $8 a book. $24 for a trilogy which has the same amount of story I can get in somebody else’s single $8 book. Go figure.
