Windows Live Writer

After reading a review of the Windows Live Writer I had to give it a shot. I’ve been using Wordpress for a while and usually spend most of my time using the default text editor because the WYSIWYG editor sucks. It’s very buggy, not to mention it doesn’t have a decent spell checker.
I’ve been using a spell checker plugin that basically hacks the Google toolbar spell checker, but it is excruciatingly slow. I usually end up just leaving my posts completely unedited and it probably shows. ![]()
So far I like what I see. I wrote this post using WLW and so far so good. I also like the fact that MS has finally gotten around to making software that works with things other than MS products.
If you want to try it out you can down load it here. I think I’ll give it a short. There are a few features I’d like to try out.

I’m looking forward to the new version of Firefox with inline spellchecking. BTW, I think you meant to say “gotten around to making” instead of “gotten around to make.” Spellcheck can’t catch everything, you know.

Thanks. I fixed it. My writing skills could use some improvement. I suppose I could proofread my posts, but that seems like too much work.
Firefox is great and I definitely believe everybody should be using it, but it does have some issues. Every since 1.5 it uses far more memory that I think it should. It has to do something with the a new page caching feature, but 1GB of memory usage is extreme for a browser. I expect that from IBM products, not open-source.
BTW I like your site. I’ve been reading it for a short while now.
