China’s National Pastime

I ran across a couple sets of pictures showing China’s national pastime: National Pastime and National Pastime continues

They are both worth a quick looksie. Sue saw them last night and said they were very accurate. Some time around lunch/early afternoon and after people have eaten the heat can kinda get to people so they all take a nap. They seem to sleep anywhere and everywhere. I guess you have to expect this since even schools in China have mandatory naptimes. I don’t remember being able to sleep in high school without getting in trouble. Damn!

that’s awesome. see, american culture needs to change. people in mexico do this, as do many europeans, and the chinese. who knows how many other cultures participate in siesta. we need to begin practicing this now.

seriously! when i was in spain i loved that everything closed for a period of time in the early afternoon and everyone just relaxed. it was so nice and felt so normal. i hate that i get tired around 1-2pm every day, but i have to sit here and hold my eyes open so i can keep droning on the computer.

I with you both completely on this. I definitely could use a nap right after lunch. Nothing long, just 20-30 minutes would be fine. Just a little something to take the edge off being sleepy.
