Tired of the Spam

I think I’ve had just about enough spam. I get it at work, I get it at home and I get spam comments on this blog. Nobody sees them since I have comments locked down a bit, but I have to weed through them daily. It’s a very tiring job. Gmail does a decent job, but the messages are starting to sneak through. Our email system at work is worthless when it comes to spam.
The only thing I really have any control over is this site. So, for the time being I’m not only filtering, but automatically deleting comments that contain names of medications. 99% of comment spam has the medication names in them so this should help a bit. At least I’ll give it a try for now.
The downside is that you can’t tell me to calm down and take some valium. You can’t tell me how much better cialis is over viagra. Your comments will be deleted automatically. I won’t even see them.
So, without further ado, don’t use these words in your comments or they will never see the light of day:
- adderall
- alprazolam
- ativan
- carisoprodol
- cialis
- diazepam
- diflucan
- hydrocodone
- levitra
- phentermine
- tramadol
- valium
- viagra
- vicodin
- Xanax

aw d’ang, and i so wanted to use those in the near future…. i know what you mean about the spam though. and fcc regulations require there to be an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and the worst offenders of spamming don’t have the links. bastards.
