We’re Pregnant!

Well actually, Sue’s Pregnant!!! I don’t want to jinx things, but I can’t keep this to myself.
Sue went to the doctor’s office today for something unrelated, but the nurse did a pregnancy test. It came out positive. So she did another. That came out positive too! She told Sue that she did a pregnancy test for her and that it came out position. Sue said, “Yeah, I know I’m not pregnant.”. The nurse said, “No. You are pregnant.”
Sue told me when she came home. She was happy and smiling when she walked in the door. I figured she was in a good mood. A kiss followed by, “Happy early Father’s Day! You’re going to be a Father!” told me exactly why she was so happy.
We waited a bit to call everybody. I wanted to tell our parents first and then start telling everybody else. I figure with the first one we should tell the parents first. That meant waiting until they all got home from work. I can only imagine how distracted mom would be trying to drive home thining about grandchildren.
My parents were happy as expected. Mom says her “intuition” told her that Sue was pregnant last week. It looks like she was right. Sue delivered the news to dad. Next was her parents. I wanted to tell her mom the news. I told her, “Sue’s going to have a baby”. She said, “Sue. Baby. What is that?” I told her again. I figure she must be thinking that Sue has Feifei with her. After another try she finally understood and said congrats.
We called a few more people and are relaxing for the rest of the night. Tomorrow she gets to go back for an ultra-sound. Until then, we rest.

Congrats to you both on the great news. We are so happy for you two. But I must admit something. I am really happy as HELL for me
. This is cause Imma gonna be a grandparent. Mom asked me last night after the great news, what do you want to be called? I assumed she meant by the child. Grandfather, granddad, grampa, gramps, pepe`, poppy? I thought about this today. (I had this kinda time)
What I decided is, I will wait and see what it turns out to be. So while you are thinking of names for the baby,,,,, just throw me into the fray. All jokes aside I am very very happy for you two.
love Dad

What I’m really hoping is that you’ll be called 爷爷, which is the paternal grandfather. It sounds like “yeah yeah” with the first “yeah” going up in tone. Mom will be 奶奶, which sounds like “nai nai”. “Nai” sounds like “Hi”, but with an ‘N’ instead of ‘H’.
