We Have Water

We now have the ability to water our plants and lawn. Dad came up this past weekend to help finish up the plumbing job we started when we moved in. All new pipes were installed between the well pump and the outside spigots. Not a cheap job by any means, but not as expensive as it could have been if we had to hire a plumber.
I even got a chance to learn some soldering skills. Dad kept saying it was easier than the electrical stuff I do regularly. I have to agree that in concept it is simple, but working with a torch, flux and solder takes some skill and attention. During the 10 minutes of soldering that I did I lit my towel on fire twice and burned myself with hot flux and solder a few times. You have to pay attention to the stuff falling to make sure it doesn’t fall on you. Not to mention when you’re doing something don’t forget you have a very hot flame maker in your other hand. A little coordination never hurt.
We got most of the plumbing done on Saturday. I stayed up late doing other stuff like dishes, laundry and just plain cleaning house. Normal stuff. I woke up the next morning at 5:55am sick as a dog. I was able to make it downstairs and onto the couch for a few minutes before I went running for the bathroom to get sick. Not a cool way to start the day.
I felt a little better later in the morning, but I never felt more than 60% all day. I wasn’t tired, but I was physically exhausted. I barely ate too. Some dry toast for lunch and chicken noodle soup for dinner. After my sweetie got home and I had a good night of sleep I felt better. Today I have more energy and feel just about right. I only wish I knew what got me sick yesterday.
While I rested on the couch on Sunday dad helped fix a few other things. The kitchen sink was leaking, the dish washer wasn’t working, and we needed to install a new escutcheon in the shower. He happily helped us with all of them and then snuck outside to start attacking the stump that remains of “The Bush”. I didn’t even know what he was doing until he came in to tell me. Sneaky.
Thanks for your help pop. It was a pleasure to water the flowers and yard last night.

Slow down on the cost pal,,, Ya didn’t get the bill yet,,,,oh sorry, the BILLS is what I meant to say. Anyway as I always say,,, I’m easy,,, but I’m not cheap
. Your soldering skills are just fine, ya just have to remember to solder the “top” of the pipe as well as the bottom
.
, I know but can’t tell Ya
.
. Oh ya be careful of the dosage, it causes babies, or something like that.
Sorry you were so sick in the morning, however it seems to me that I have that same effect on many people. I think you’re allergic to me. Thats why I drank beer, it protected me from the sick bug I carry with me.
Anyway isn’t it amazing when the sweety gets home you tend to feel a little better. I wonder why
Gimmee a call when ya need some more help. Just take your allergy med’s before I get there. Ya Know the ones,,,, Heres a hint, they come carbonated, in a bottle, taste good, come from Mexico
Luv Ya, Pop.

Thanks to all three of you for a good laugh today
The blog and then the comments….I love it!!!!
Dad and I could her cooking every day
and they all thought he was a picky eater….NOT with Sue’s special winging dinners she made when we were there…. Yes do take a bath, it is too confusing on how to take a shower. I will test everyone that comes to your house warming on how to use your special shower….and see of they can figure it out….
Reading your story about your first plumbing experience was well written and very amusing. I hated the burns form flux when soldering my stainglass, but if I can do it so can you, just have to practice. But I liked the part of remembering the torch in your other hand…..
In regards to the bills….Dad is cheap – he likes Sue’s cooking – so she might get the bill
