Random Thoughts

One
My ride into work can be kinda boring. I’m amusing myself by making a list of all thr lawn and leaf bag brands. I’ve never seen so many of these bags used before and it seems like everybody sells them now: Lowe’s, Home Depot, Hewitts (local store), Kmart, Hannaford, Price Chopper, Ace, Agway. I’m sure there are others that I missed.

I once asked Sue what she thought of the Scion xB. It’s the boxy looking van/SUV/something-or-other. She said that should would never ride in or own one.

“It looks like a coffin.”

She has the same opinion of the Honda Element.

NY State Police are in the news a lot lately. First, they are no longer going to plea bargin with drivers at court. This means that if you get a speeding ticket from a trooper it’ll stick even if you plee not guilty. The trooper will not be in court to reduce the sentence to something less. The trooper’s union is against this since it is seen as a move to reduce overtime costs, however, the reasoning behind it is to put troopers where they are needed, in the field, not in court.

Second, there is a big push in NY to enforce a new law regarding speeding in construction zones. If you get caught speeding two or more times your license will be suspended for 60 days. Troopers are going to be waiting in each construction area doing radar. You might not see them either; they may be in plain clothes or just sitting in a construction vehicle, instead of in a marked car.

I never thought the guy that runs the F.U.C.M. blog was ever going to post anything again. Then this pops up. He must be on vacation resting, relaxing, watching TV. I can see him now drinking a beer watching TV. :D

yeah, with the lawn & leaf bag thing, i think you’re nutts. and i mean certifiable. people-watching is more my thing. nasty old men who pick & flick while driving.

the coffing car thing i agree with. those things are ugly.

part two: damn straight. the raods may be safer if there are police on them rather than pushing paperwork & testifying that they were, in fact, doing their job & doing it right when this dope sped by them who is now trying to get his fine reduced. shouldn’t have sped to start with buddy, sorry.

three, right again. those guys risk their lives to work on the side of the road to fix it so that we can drive on them without wrecking our cars. they shouldn’t have to worry that some crazy mo-fo will drive by doing 100 mph & the wind-wake created by his passing will knock them over & give them a concussion.

four, no shit. where is that guy? sitting around with the lazy plumbers association? he-he. can’t wait to see youz guys!

Damn I thought at least somebody else has noticed the bags besides me. Oh well. 8-} No nose pickers on my ride. It’s kinda short and most of it on back roads. Once on the main stretch I’m too busy racing between the lights to notice the other racers.

Doesn’t Mass. already have a similar thing in place where cops are always present at construction zones? I could swear always seeing at least one cop any time I saw orange cones.
