Finally. Finally. Almost.

We are finally (almost) done with the rooms. I never thought painting a couple rooms would take so damn long, but it does. Remove this, patch that, sand, patch again, sand more, wash, primer and paint. What a chore. We got a rough start working on the trim, but have gotten the hang of it already. Sue is becoming quite the painting pro. I usually take the detail work and she takes the bigger trim.
All the trim in the computer room except for the window sashes and the door trim is done. The closet needs a coat of paint, and I suppose some trim paint, but that can wait. The room is more important. Sue finished most of the trim in the guest room and I put up curtains. It looks pretty good so far.
Tonight is the night we start to move furniture into the computer room. Looks like we’ll meet my goal of having it painted. Now comes time to get stuff unpacked. We’ll also move some stuff into the guest room. Bed, armoire and stuff.
I also took some time last night to hang pictures. All but three are up on the walls. It really finishes off the rooms. We’re both happy. A few of them were from estate sales and others were ours. They look good. I’ll have to take some pictures of everything done.
BTW for those who heard me say that Sue will never allow the pots and pans to stay on the hooks. Well, I was wrong. She loves to have them there. There just isn’t enough room in the cabinets for them. I still need to get the time to rearrange the kitchen. I can’t find anything. The pains of moving. Never enough time and always plenty to do.

and do you constantly hit your head on them?

I know what you mean about the time spent on the work in one room.
I started by replaceing a faucet 3 weeks ago. I’m on the down side now though. It’s a good thing too, cause I feel like s–t. I hope, as i’m sure you do that at least someone likes the room. you know the house is a mess because of this and we didin’t even move anywhere
I hate messy

Jessie,
Luckily I don’t hit my head on them. I don’t even brush them. So, they can stay. I’m just concerned that they will get dirtly from dust and cooking on the stove. So far they are okay though. I put the most used pans nearest the stove so they don’t hand around for too long.

Dad,
We spent until 11pm last night just cleaning up our “mess”. It looks great now though! The desk (with slight damage from moving) and bookshelves are in the computer room. Most of the books are on the shelves. We even found a few to get rid of.
Curtains are up. Still have a couple boxes to unpack in there.
Bed is assembled in the guest room, but the guest room isn’t done. Still have a little trim painting to do. Not to mention closet. Need to get some curtains for there.
Everything that was in the garage attic is out. I took it out in case of mice. We caught two already. All of it along with everything left in the dining room was repacked and either moved upstairs into the blue room’s closet or down into the basement. You can actually see the dining room floor now.
I get out early today. I hope to finish up a few small things. Electric socket plates, trim painting, handing cutains, this, that. Still have plenty to do. Have to get a tleast some things done with the in-laws coming for inspection, I mean visit.

BTW Sue wants a new toilet now too. She hates the one in the downstairs bathroom. I’m trying to hold her off until we decide what we are doing with the room. I don’t want to completely redo it, but some new stuff like a shower and cabinet are in order. Just have to find a plumber (who isn’t tired).

damn those lazy plumbers….
