Easter Weekend

We are very close to actually having a completed guest room and office. I stayed up very late on Friday painting both rooms. I put on a final coat of primer in the office and put the final coat of paint in the guest room. I must say I do like the look of the rooms. The color is similar to what was in there, but a little darker and much nicer looking. It looks good enough to eat. I’m just not sure what it resembles. A nice, light brown/tan. A nice contrast to the white trim.

The only thing that does both me is that the room was in such bad shape all the work we/I did isn’t that visible. you can still see the drips that the other person made and the iffy looking patches they did. I scraped, patched and sanded, but it looks like it was worse than I first thought. Oh well. Just don’t look too close at the walls. :D

I hope to finish the closet and trim tonight in the guest room and get a coat of paint into the office. After a few days both will be ready to be filled with stuff. Finally, we’ll be able to finish unpacking.

There are no lights though. We are still trying to choose fans. The one we picked out for the master bedroom comes down too low. I’ll end up hitting the lights with my head. Damn. We both like it too.

The goal I have in mind is to have these rooms done before this weekend. It is one of three days a year that Sue’s parents get off from work and they’ll be coming up. First stop is our house. They’ll get their first chance to see our new place. The next time they see the place might be Thanksgiving. By then I hope to have most of the bigger projects done. After our house it’s off to Amy’s to help her install a couple doors. The fun never ends!
