Curtains and Moving Boxes

We are ever so slowly (and sometimes quickly) making our way closer to our closing date. The guy that owns the house won’t even be there for the closing. Somebody with his power of attorney will be there to represent him. So, we shouldn’t have any trouble closing on March 10th. I guess that gives us the entire following weekend to work on the house and get stuff moved. First thing is first though. New door locks must be installed!

We spent a good amount of time yesterday at a number of stores looking and buying curtains for the house. We found some good buys at Linens N Things and many more at JC Penney. There was a 50% off sale plus 15% if you use your card. We bought curtains for the dining room, living room, master bedroom and another bedroom. Dad’s room doesn’t need curtains, his doesn’t even have windows. We still have to pick up hardware and some other small curtains, but are pretty well set so far.

Mom was kind enough to supply us with a number of boxes for moving stuff. I’ve been slowly packing all the crap I’ve accumulated over the years and there doesn’t seem to be much of an end to it all. The small room in the basemet is loaded with boxes of my (our) stuff and that isn’t all of it. It’s spread far and wide throughout the house and shed. It’ll take a few loaded cars/trucks/vans to bring it all up. At least we have more room for our stuff. More room, more stuff.
