Thanksgiving 2005

I finally got around to posting the pictures from this past Thanksgiving. Click mom to see them.
We had quite the holiday weekend. So much happened I guess the only thing I can do is hit the highlights.
On Thanksgiving Day we had some slushy snow, but my parents, Sue’s parents and Mike’s parents all made it up to Voorheesville for dinner. Sue’s dad did a little work on the shed so that the doors close, but thankfully didn’t spend any more time working on the house. We prefer him inside enjoying himself instead of working, but he is a self-driven work-aholic. Mom, dad, Sue and I all cooked portions of the dinner. It’s hard to believe that all the work we put into the meal and it ended up looking like a small meal. Oh well.
After stuffing ourselves and having desserts we all hopped into our cars for the drive downstate. My parents didn’t fair too bad. They hit some snow near New Paltz, but the rest of us hit the worst. Between the Mass pike exit and Saugerties we had nearly white out conditions. It was extremely difficult to see. Even with a two lane highway to drive on it was still nerve racking to think at any moment we could drive off the side of the road. We made it safe and sound though.
Cousins Jessie and Sarah came stayed over Friday to Sunday with their men. The rest of mom’s family stayed in Mass. We had a good time though. I came home Friday after work and got to spend some time with them. We also made it over for dinner on Saturday. Unfortunatley, we weren’t able to visit Brian from Michigan. He already had plans for dinner with his father and we had to work on Sunday. Oh well. We’ll meet up again sometime.
Maybe if we are lucky and are able to get a house next year we may just have to host Thanksgiving dinner ourselves.
