Hotpot

I just happened to be looking at blogs and ran upon an entry about hotpots. It makes me hungry just thinking of it. Sue started me on hotpot when in Chinatown (NYC). It was pretty good, but expensive. $25 a head plus tip. We even had hotpot in Xi’an during our honeymoon. It was pretty good, but mostly meat. They didn’t give us enough veggies in my opinion.
Now, we have our own gas stove and use our big Cuisinart pot to have hotpot at home. We buy a bunch of veggies, some meats and crueller. Yummy! We usually have a dipping sauce made of soy sauce, chicken broth, sugar, scallions and sesame oil. Tastey and a little sweet. I also like a sweet, spicy dipping sauce. If Thanksgiving wasn’t next week I’d have to insist on hotpot. I guess it’ll have to wait until next week.
