Favorite Lunch Spots

Thanks to my lovely wife Sue I’ve been introduced to two different restaurants that are now at the top of my favorite places to get lunch. Panera Bread and Nothing But Noodles. I’m on my second trip for Java training at CMA and find myself yet again going out for lunch. Both Panera and Noodles are close by.

Sue brought me to Panera Bread not long before I moved to the capital district last year. They had recently opened a store in Schenectady near her job. Every time I’ve been there the food has been excellent. We usually get a half sandwich with soup. Although, I don’t think they make it themselves their brocolli cheddar soup is great. I may have to get lunch there tomorrow or Friday. The only downside to Panera is that they are so damn busy. They give you a pager so that you know when your food is ready. Their food can also be pricey, but it is almost always worth it.

Like me Sue also attends training classes (Oracle) at CMA. The last time she went she had lunch at Nothing But Noodles. I happened to help her eat her leftovers and I found myself hooked. I went there for lunch today and got their beef storganoff dish. It is one of the pricier meals, but worth it. Like Panera their meals are a little more expensive than other places, but the food is fresh and made to order. They also have staff to bring you your food and clean up the tables.

Both places have a similar look and feel in their buildings. They have a Starbucks feel to them and they are usually decorated nicely. They have a warm feel to them. Not like the cold feeling you get in a school cafeteria or crappy pizzeria. If there is a Panera or Noodles near you give them a try.
