Yesterday, we spent the day pretty doing nothing. We got up a little later than normal, Sue ran off to her dentist for her a cleaning and I spent some time ironing shirts for the week and making breakfast. After Sue got home we cleaned the apartment a bit and headed out to Tuesday Morning for some shopping. We haven’t been there for a while and we found a few goodies there. We bought a nice “collage” frame (which I filled with pics last night) and a bunch of small gifts for Christmas. Amy came with us and picked up a few things, but the baby is a little sick and wanted to be someplace else. So, we curtailed our shopping and started over to her house.
We took a side trip to Altamont to check out a couple of houses that are for sale. One was too small and way over priced. The other was nice and in a nice neighborhood, but Sue didn’t like the driveway; it was a not flat. However, if the driveway was flatter it would be pretty much what we want. Oh well. There will be others. We are going to get a pre-approval soon to see how much the bank will lend us. Then we get to figure out how much we are willing to spend.
Dinner was homemade meatballs with spaghetti by Mike. He was really into making dinner and even set out the table with champagne and folded napkins. He was really enjoying himself. Dinner was pretty good. I plopped James into his high chair and gave him some plain spaghetti. He didn’t put any into his own mouth, but had a good time playing with it and feeding me. I took a couple pictures, but didn’t have a chance to get the one with spaghetti in his hair. He had a good time. Nobody had to watch and hold him during dinner. I hope that Amy took notes. ![]()
Sue made an apple pie for dessert, but we were exhausted by 8:30pm and didn’t have a car. So, instead of making Mike take us home late we decided to call it a night early. That way they can have some peace and we could go home and rest too.
We (I) played a lot with the baby. He usually takes a nap in the afternoon, but he stayed up with us until about 8:00pm. He just didn’t want to go to sleep. We played in the kitchen with the plastic containers, in the living room with an old pie plate and wooden spoon, on the bed falling down, roaring loudly at each other, swinging upside down and up and down in the air. He was ecstatic by the time we stopped for breath. I don’t think he’s had that much fun in one day ever.
Hopefully, he slept well after all that.
BTW I have photos of their new fence and of Huafei eating. I’ll post those along with the Minnewaska pictures soon, hopefully.
