Deception Point – Dan Brown

Another book down: “Deception Point” by Dan Brown. Although the story was okay I found parts of it kinda slow and the ending somewhat predictable. After reading a few of Brown’s books you get a feel for his style of writing and learn how he twists the story. By halfway or three quarters of the way through this one you should have an idea of who the bad guy is. Never suspect the obvious. Always go for the least expected person and you’ll always be right on the money. By the end of the story you’ll see how Brown twists the story enough for it to be true, but for you to think something else up to that point.
The first portion of the book was the slowest part. It wasn’t apprent until half way through what the big mystery was. There is mostly discussion about a big discovery in the artic and you learn about the relationships between the characters, but you don’t get into the meat of the story until very late.
It may have been slow at times and I may have pinpointed the bad guy early, but it was a decent read. I’m still looking forward to reading his other book “The Da Vinchi Code“. Thankfully I was able to remember to bring the fifth book in the Sword of Truth series “Soul of the Fire“. I’ll start reading it today. This is the book I forgot last weekend when I went downstate. I also plan on bringing a spare book downstate too. That way in case I forget again I’ll just read that one. It isn’t part of a series so I won’t miss it if I don’t read it any time soon.
