Blood of the Fold – Terry Goodkind

I finished “Blood of the Fold” last night. It was a decent book, but not at the same level as the first two books. It was shorter and focused mostly around Richard and his adventures. Some of the story included Zedd and Kahlan, but not enough in my opinion. I hope the forth book is better.

It’s interesting to now that Goodkind hasn’t run out of new things to write about. He touched a little on the Wizard’s Keep, but you can see that there is more to tell. The dreamwalker is interesting as well. He is just as disgusting and horrible as you would come to expect. I suspect that in the forth book we’ll learn a little bit more about him.

I was planning to read one of the sci-fi books given to me by a guy at work, but I’m not sure I’m ready. I started reading “Legacies” by Alison Sinclair. I just couldn’t get into it. The writing is tedious to read. Maybe I’m just not used to it yet. I may give it a chance later. For now I’m going onto the forth Goodkind book “Temple of the Winds“.

I picked up the rest of the Sword of Truth books last week too. I had a Borders gift certificate and picked up books 4 through 7. Then, while in Lake George I visited the Book Warehouse store and picked up 7 and 8 in hardcover for $4 and $6 each. Not bad, although I usually buy paperback. I returned book 7 to Borders and got “The Magic of Recluse“. It is a book by L. E. Modesitt Jr. It has varying reviews and I figured I would give it a shot. It’ll probably sit until I finish my Goodkind and Jordan novels.
