Dutchess County Fair, 2005

We closed out the weekend by making a trip to the Dutchess County Fair in Rhinebeck. This is the first of the past few years where we actually went to the fair early in the day. We work a lot and don’t get much free time on the weekend, but we were able to get off this past Sunday for a trip to the fair.
One good thing about this fair is that you know what to expect when you go. I guess you can say that about every fair. This year was no different. We saw the pig races, we ate lots of unhealthy food (enough were dinner wasn’t necessary), walked around a lot and bought the usual souvenir: sugary peanuts.
What was really good about this year is that we went as a group. Amy and Mike brought Feifei. My parents came along. It was a lot of fun having the baby there. He’s never seen anything like it. Lots of noise, lots of people and plenty of things to see. He was a complete angel the entire day and spent most of it just looking around. Next year should be fun since he’ll be walking by then.
The only downside to going was the weather was not being very cooperative. It drizzled on and off for most of the day. By the end it was very muggy. At least it kept the crowds to a minimum. Parking was easy for once and there wasn’t too many people to get in your way. Overall it we had a grande ole time!
