I’m hooked! There is no question about it! I just finished reading the second book in the the Sword of Truth series, “Stone of Tears“, and it was just as good as the first. I hear rumors that in this book the author tries too hard to make the antagonist evil, but I don’t see it. The character is supposed to be the most evil entity ever and it is very apparent after reading this story.
There are some pretty disgusting parts, but it brings the story to a more believable level. If you have ever read any history books (such as “The Rape of Nanking“) about what the Japanese soldiers did to the people of Nanking, China during WWII then you would see that some pretty nasty things happen in the world. The story doesn’t highlight these events, but it doesn’t gloss over them either.
I’m ready to get to reading the third book, but I like to savor good books like these so I’m going to give “Angels & Demons” by Dan Brown a read first. Then I’ll start on the “The Blood of the Fold“.
